Around the Minors – April 17, 2012

First off, get well wishes to Marian Hossa for that pile of crap hit he took last night…

Here is the recap from last night around the minor leagues for the Cubs organization.

Daytona – 7
Dunedin – 8

John Adreoli, Greg Rohan, and Chad Noble all had two hits in a losing effort for Daytona.  Rohan also collected his third home run of the 2012 season.  Hayden Simpson couldn’t find the plate at all, and when he did he was hit hard.  Simpson only lasted 2 and 2/3rds innings giving up 6 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks.

Iowa – 6
Albuquerque – 13

A really sloppy game for Iowa as they committed three errors which greatly contributed to Chris Rusin’s short outing and the loss.  Rusin only lasted an inning, giving up 6 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits.  Valbuena, Rizzo, and Cardenas all had two hits on the night, Brett Jackson chipped in with a triple.  Cardenas, and Lalli each had two RBI’s in the losing effort.

Tennessee was rained out last night.

Thanks for reading,
– George
