4/24: Smokies Can’t Dig Out of Early Hole

Dae-Eun Rhee didn’t have his best stuff Tuesday night, and it resulted in the Smokies getting behind early 7-0 after three innings.  Jae-Hoon Ha had a tremendous day at the plate going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored.  Full box score after the jump.

4/24: Lakeland Pounds Daytona

Not much went right for Daytona Tuesday night, as Lakeland scored in all but two innings on their way to a 13-5 victory.  On the bright side, the D-Cubs swung the bats rather well.  Matt Szczur seems to be turning it on at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two walks.  Rubi Silva, Sergio Burruel, and Dustin Harrington all had multi-hit games.  Full box score after the jump.

4/24: Peoria Walks Off in Grand Fashion

Well that’s one hell of a way to cap a walk off victory, nothing more exciting than a walk off grand slam.  Paul Hoilman delivered in a big way, with the game tied in the bottom of the ninth he launched a game winning grand slam to beat the Lugnuts 6-2.  Full box score after the jump.

April 25, 2012 – Cubs Lineup vs Cardinals

The Cubs already have locked up their first series win of the season, today they go for their first sweep of the season behind Chris Volstad.  The weather is rather crappy today in Chicago, hopefully we can dodge the rain drops and get this one in, here is the Cubs lineup today.

Peoria Chiefs Stats and Standings Through 4/23/12

The Chiefs got off to a slow start this season, but are hovering right around the .500 mark.  They should get a boost from the addition of Geraldo Concepcion to the roster.  Full stats and standings after the jump.

Peoria Chiefs Add Concepcion to Roster

Gerardo Concepcion officially signed with the Cubs back in March, you can read about that here, he will now make his Organizational debut tomorrow for the Peoria Chiefs, where he will be starting.  We will keep you posted on his progress for sure.
