FULL BOX SCORE

Tremendous effort from Gerardo Concepcion this afternoon for Peoria.  Concepcion went six strong innings to earn his first pro victory in a 2-0 win over Burlington.  Break up the Chiefs, they have now won 5 straight games to turn their season around.  Zeke DeVoss put on a show on the base paths today.  DeVoss went 2-for-2 with two walks, and two runs scored, oh, he also had four stolen bases, not a bad day.

FULL BOX SCORE

For the second straight day the Tennessee Smokies pounded the ball all over the place en route to a win over the Jackson Generals.  Today’s effort included 12 hits and 10 runs as that was just enough for a 10-8 victory.  Junior Lake is on a tear since returning from the DL, he went 3-for-5 today with a double, a run, and three RBI’s.  Justin Bour joined the fun going 2-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBI’s.  Dae-Eun Rhee didn’t have his best stuff, but he didn’t get any help from his defense.  Rhee only lasted four innings, allowing six runs, only two earned however, good enough for a no decision.

Anthony Rizzo is making it very hard for the powers that be to ignore him.  Rizzo went 3-for-4 today with his 13th home run of the season, he added a triple for good measure.  He also had two more RBI’s which bring his season total to 37.  Randy Wells continued his career meltdown giving up seven runs, all earned in five innings of work to earn his second loss of the season.  Mike MacDougal, who was just signed by the Cubs today, showcased his talents in 2/3rds of an inning by walking four guys and allowing two runs in mop up duty of a 9-4 loss.
