Cubs beat Brewers to avenge 2018 loss, not really

Full Box Score

The Cubs opened the 2019 spring baseball season with an 8-4 victory over the lovable Milwaukee Brewers.  Everyone loves the Brewers, you know, because they are just so lovable.  Except for that whole keep the Cubs fans out of Milwaukee thing they do, didn’t really think a baseball team would have to resort to asinine, bush league behavior like a Nashville hockey team but here we are, again.

They did something similar last year, it didn’t help but it has added to the building rivalry between the Brewers and Cubs.  I’ll be honest, I’m definitely here for this rivalry as it has been missing with the Brewers being basically dog shit for the last 6 years, save for last year of course.

The highlight of this one was Kris Bryant kicking things off the right way by launching a majestic two run shot in his first AB of 2019.  Big year for Bryant as he is out to prove last year was just a fluke and that he is 100% healthy and ready to haunt the National League’s dreams, see below.  Tingly.

Newcomer Daniel Descalso got his Brewer Killing season off to a great start as he went 1-for-2 with an RBI in the victory.  Eight different Cubs pitchers got into this one with 36 year old journeyman Mike Zagurski picking up the victory.

The Cubs are back at it again tomorrow against the Giants, Tyler Chatwood gets the start.
