Here is your nightly recap for the Cubs minor league system, full recaps/box scores after the jump, enjoy.
Dae-Eun Rhee didn’t have his best stuff Tuesday night, and it resulted in the Smokies getting behind early 7-0 after three innings. Jae-Hoon Ha had a tremendous day at the plate going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored. Full box score after the jump.
Not a successful day at all for the entire Cubs organization, as all three levels lost last night. Full Recaps after the jump.
Finally the Smokies great pitching is rewarded and Tennessee gets the win. It was a struggle once again as the Smokies were only able to score four runs, but that was enough to get the much-needed win. Dae-Eun Rhee was outstanding going 6 and 1/3rd innings giving up 6 hits and one run while striking out four. Rebel Ridling was the difference at the plate for the Smokies going 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Full box score after the jump.
A day after being embarrassed the Smokies got back to work, and back to winning, beating Chattanooga 7-4. Dae-Eun Rhee mad his 2012 debut, and had a decent outing going 5 and 2/3rds innings giving up four runs, three earned on six hits, he walked two and struck out five.
The Cubs beat the White Sox today 5-1. The pitching was the difference as the Cubs staff only surrendered four hits today. Starting pitcher Travis Wood pitched well and so did Randy Wells who induced a bases loaded double play to Paul Konerko to end the 3rd. Also in relief today was Lopez, Rhee, and Castillo. The Cubs offense was powered by Edgar Gonzalez, Steve Clevenger, and Marlon Byrd who all hit their first homers of the spring. Soriano stayed hot leading the game off with a double later scoring on a Darwin Barney base hit. It is always nice to beat the Chicago White Sox whether it is spring training or not.
Full Box Score on its way.
