I’m sure most have you have seen it, or heard about it, but if you haven’t here goes. Brett Lawrie was the victim of two horrendous strike calls last night in the 9th inning. The first one was bad on a 3-1 pitch, the second one might have been worse on a 3-2 pitch. So Lawrie decided to pile drive his helmet into the ground and off the umpire who made said bad calls.
Today MLB suspended Lawrie for 4 games, is that enough? Is that too much? Delmon Young got 50 games for INTENTIONALLY (Honestly, it really was) throwing his bat at an umpire.. so where does this compare?
I will say this, the people saying Lawrie intentionally hit the umpire with the helmet are a little off base, in my opinion. He chucked the helmet down way too close to him, but he wasn’t trying to hit him with it. What are your thoughts??
