4/24: Smokies Can’t Dig Out of Early Hole

Dae-Eun Rhee didn’t have his best stuff Tuesday night, and it resulted in the Smokies getting behind early 7-0 after three innings.  Jae-Hoon Ha had a tremendous day at the plate going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored.  Full box score after the jump.

Smokies Still Searching For Offense in Loss

Dallas Beeler turned in an outstanding outing but walks away with a no decision because the Tennessee Smokies can’t muster an offense recently.  Elliot Soto had three hits, and Michael Burgess contributed two on the day, and that was about it.  The Generals got to Alberto Cabrera in the 8th inning to take the lead and eventually the game 4-1.

Tennessee Punchless in Loss to Jackson

Nicholas Struck pitched well for the second straight game, but received no help from his offense as the Smokies were only able to score once, on two hits.  James Adduci was the only offense on the night as he hit a solo shot, Jae-Hoon Ha also had a double, and that was it.

Raley Pitches Smokies to Victory

Brooks Raley didn’t get the win Monday Night, but the Smokies probably wouldn’t have won without him.  Raley went 6 and 1/3rd innings, allowing two runs on six hits with only one walk, and four strikeouts.  Jae-Hoon Ha was outstanding for the Smokies.  He had two hits in four at bats and gunned down a baserunner at the plate securing the Smokies’ 3-2 victory.

Smokies Bounce Back With a Victory

A day after being embarrassed the Smokies got back to work, and back to winning, beating Chattanooga 7-4.  Dae-Eun Rhee mad his 2012 debut, and had a decent outing going 5 and 2/3rds innings giving up four runs, three earned on six hits, he walked two and struck out five.

McNutt Struggles With Command in Victory

Trey McNutt made his 2012 debut Friday night, and struggled with his command, possibly nerves too.  McNutt only lasted 3 and 2/3rds innings, he didn’t give up any runs, and only surrended two hits.  However, McNutt did walk three guys, and had three wild pitches to go along with his three strikeouts.  The Smokies’ bullpen was able to hold Chattanooga scoreless for the rest of the game to secure the 1-0 victory.
