The Cubs made some minor moves yesterday before the game against the Dodgers. Right-hander Dae-Eun Rhee and catcher Micah Gibbs were sent back to the club’s minor-league facility at Fitch Park. Making those moves brings the Cubs roster down to 57 players in major league camp, and brings the total number of players assigned to minor league camp to six.

Cubs made a few moves before facing off with the White Sox today. RHP Marco Carillo, RHP Trey McNutt, INF Jonathan Mota, and OF Jae-Hoon Ha have been reassigned to minor league camp. The big league camp roster now stands at 59. First pitch in a little less than half an hour.
Cubs radio play-by-play voice Pat Hughes hit the nail on the head entering the sixth inning when he said it’s a completely different team out there. Such is spring training, the longer the game goes the earlier in the Spring the more players are swapped in and out. The Cubs dominated for the first six innings today, as they built up a 6-1 lead by the bottom of the 4th inning behind a three run shot by Blake Dewitt in the second, and run scoring singles by Clevenger and Barney in the fourth. The Cubs were clicking on all cylinders as they were working counts where necessary and jumping on fastballs early in the count when the situation called for it.
