4/20: I-Cubs Rally Falls Short

Frankie De La Cruz didn’t have it against the Isotopes, giving up three runs in the first inning that the I-Cubs couldn’t come all the way back from.  The  I-Cubs did make a game of it as they scored runs in both the 8th and 9th inning, but couldn’t get that tying marker.  Alfredo Amezaga had a solid day at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.  Full box score after the jump.

Castillo and Vitters Power I-Cubs to Win

It was the Welington Castillo show Wednesday night in Iowa, as he went 3-for-3 with a double, home run, RBI, and three runs scored.  Josh Vitters also remained scorching hot going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s, he is now hitting .450 on the young season.  Casey Coleman turned in a solid effort earning the win going five innings, giving up one run on three hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.  Anthony Rizzo and Brett Jackson were quiet for the second straight day, I expect 7 HR’s next game, each.
