Dodgers Even Series Behind Brilliant Capuano

No matter how many times the Cubs face Capuano, they struggle, doesn’t matter who is wearing the uniform, as long as it says Cubs on it they will struggle.  For whatever reason every Cubs team struggles against soft tossing left handers, and today was no different.  The Cubs had a great opportunity in the first inning after DeJesus reached on a dropped pop up.  But Alfsonso Soriano and Ian Stewart both struck out with the bases-loaded to end the Cubs threat.  It was the only real threat the Cubs had all day and if they would have been able to scratch a run across it might have been a totally different day.  Chris Volstad continued his mind numbing winless streak which now sits at 17 straight starts.  What’s so perplexing is Volstad has good stuff, and for the majority of the game he displays that, it’s usually one bad inning that gets him.  Case and point today as Volstad surrendered three runs in the second inning which was all the Dodgers needed en route to a 5-1 victory.  Full box and highlights after the jump.
